The Leader of the Imperial Government of the United Reich of New Bayern, known more commonly as the Reich Leader or Reichsleiter (German: Leiter(in) des Reichsregierungs des Vereinigte Reiches der Neubayern or Reichsleiter(in), literally meaning "Imperial Leader", or Leiter for short) is the head of government of the United Reich of New Bayern. The Reichsleiter until 993 was always simultaneously the head of the Democratic Unity Front of New Bayern.

There have been 39 Reichsleiters in Neubayerisch history, 6 of whom were female. The inaugural holder of the Reichsleiter post was Franz Josef Dietrich. The incumbent Reichsleiter is Paul Bergens.

FunctionsEdit

The Reichsleiter is the second-highest official in the executive branch of the Imperial Government, and is appointed as such by the Kaiserin (although the Reichsleiter is always the leader of the ruling party). The Reichsleiter holds significant power over legislation in the Reich. The Reichsleiter has the ability to appoint the Imperial Cabinet (Reichskabinett) and dismiss any member of the Cabinet at will. The Reichsleiter also sits in Reichsparlament with his/her Cabinet.
