The Great Hall to the Land and People of the United Reich of New Bayern' (German: Großhalle dem Lande und Volke des Vereinigte Reiches der Neubayern), more commonly known as the Volkshalle, is a historical edifice in Munich, constructed to house the Imperial Parliament (German: Reichsparlament), of Neubayern. Construction was begun on 5th October 870 after the selection of Munich as the new Imperial Capital, prior to the federation of the 13 Neubayerisch states. Contractors of the building served three successive entities: first the Federal Constitutional Assembly, the Federal Executive Council, and finally the Reichsparlament itself. The Volkshalle was completed in 874, after four years of construction.
